Our woman-owned bakery and wholesale business, based in Dearborn, Michigan, brings authentic Yemeni breads and pastries to homes, gatherings, restaurants, and retailers. Each recipe is inspired by generations of mothers and grandmothers who passed down the flavors we cherish today.

Preserving our grandmothers' recipes
We opened the bakery to preserve and save the delicious recipes our grandmothers and mothers crafted by hand, so you can enjoy the warmth and goodness of their homemade pastries and breads in the comfort of your own home.
Sabaya, the layered Yemeni pastry pie we are named for, was the first thing we baked. Honeycomb bread, tawa bread and kaak followed. Each one is made the way it has always been made: by hand, in small batches, with butter, patience and no shortcuts.
Traditional recipes for today's busy families
Our grandmothers had all morning to layer dough. Most of us do not. That is the gap we fill. We do the folding and layering in our kitchen on Tireman Street, so a family can pick up a tray on the way home, bake it, and put something on the table that tastes like it came from a Yemeni home kitchen. Because it did.
From our kitchen to your shelves
What started as a neighborhood bakery grew into a wholesale kitchen. Today our sabaya and tawa bread are carried by grocers across Southeast Michigan and beyond, and we supply caterers, chefs, restaurants, markets and hotels with trays and dough sheets made to their schedule. Whether you buy one sabaya or sixty, it comes out of the same ovens.
